PARTH ITWALA
Parth Itwala (b. 2001, Vadodara) is a visual artist based in Vadodara, Gujarat. He has completed his BVA (2023) and MVA (2025) from the Faculty of Fine Arts, The Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) of Baroda.
His practice engages with the changing urban landscape of Baroda, particularly in relation to the Smart City project and the gradual transformation of residential neighbourhoods. Through walking, cycling, and repeated site visits, he documents and revisits spaces undergoing transition. He works with painting, collage, assemblage, and found materials, responding to surfaces marked by construction, repair, and use.
He has exhibited in group exhibitions including Material in Motion, Jaipur Art Week 5.0 (2026), First Take, L&P Hutheesing Visual Art Centre, Ahmedabad) (2025), Ecriture, Kamalnayan Bajaj Art Gallery with Priyasri Art Gallery, Mumbai (2025), Where the Light Gets Out (2024). He was a 2024 artist-in-residence and scholar at Kala Sakshi Memorial Trust, New Delhi, and received the Nasreen Mohamedi Scholarship in 2022.
He is currently a participant in the Studio Catalyst mentorship program by Anant Art Gallery.
