DOLLA SHIKDER
Dolla Shikder (b.1995, Bangladesh) is a Baroda-based artist who has a BVA in Painting (2022), and an MVA in Painting (2024) from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.
Her practice explores themes of home, belonging, identity, and resilience. Through the lens of memory, migration, and identity, her work reflects on personal and ecological loss, examining how the idea of belonging has become fragile and constantly shifting under the pressures of political unrest, displacement, and environmental degradation. By combining oral histories, archival objects, personal memories, and representations of native flora and fauna, she works across textile, drawing, print, photography, and installation. Her practice particularly foregrounds the often-silenced narratives of women within her family, navigating intimate and collective experiences of home and identity.
She has participated in several group exhibitions, including: I Insist, you reckon at Exhibit 320 (2026), Mycelial Legacies IV at Anant Art (2025); Feral at HH Art Spaces, Goa (2025); Pushpabaug at Anant Art, Noida (2024); Fragile and Which Sky Do Birds Fly at Latitude 28 Gallery, Delhi (2024, 2023); and Gender Project 2022 in Berlin (2022), among others. She has also participated in residencies at Artshila Parivartan, Bihar (2025), and Space Residency, Baroda (2024). She is currently a participant in the Studio Catalyst mentorship program by Anant Art Gallery.
